We are looking for education focused candidate who understand the principles and pedagogy of good curriculum and assessment design, and who will make a significant contribution to improving the student experience at the University. Successful candidates will understand or be willing to learn the research principles around teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation. We are therefore looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dental Education (Education Focused) who has:

  • registered or eligible for registration as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • preferably a PhD (or near completion) in Dentistry or a relevant field or equivalent research experience in dentistry and health professional education
  • experience with pre-clinical and/or clinical dental education
  • understanding of human research ethics, governance processes, and academic integrity principles
  • excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The commencement level will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • participate in pre-clinical and clinical teaching in the DMD program, delivering student-centred teaching which meets the University’s expectations and standards for excellence in teaching
  • coordinate a unit of study in the DMD program and collaborate with relevant academic and professional staff to deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes for students
  • apply scholarship and contemporary pedagogical practice to drive education innovation and uplift student experience
  • contribute to knowledge advancement through research and scholarly creative work in dental education or relevant dental discipline
