LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

  • Continuing, full-time. Part-time may be considered
  • $110,997 to $131,514 per annum (Level B)
  • $135,621 to 156,$172 per annum (Level C)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation
  • Salary packaging options are available
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum
  • 20 days family and domestic violence leave available per annum
  • 20 days gender affirmation leave per annum

ABOUT YOU

For Level B applicants, you will have enrolled in a doctorate and progressed a significant way towards successful completion.
For Level C applicants, you will have a doctoral qualification in a discipline or topic relevant to Early Childhood or Primary education.
Both Level B and C applicants will have a formal teaching qualification and demonstrated early childhood or primary school teaching experience. They will also have leadership experience in an early childhood or primary school setting. We are particularly seeking applicants with established regional relationships.
Level C applicants will have experience in supervising higher degree research candidates, and mentoring and supporting early career academics.

Responsibilities

This position is based in Tamworth, NSW and will contribute to UNE’s newest campus in the region, providing place-based, strategic support and leadership in the School of Education. You will contribute to UNE’s commitment to empowering the community through accessible, flexible and innovative place-based support that is responsive to student and community needs. Central to this role is community connection and building strong, collaborative partnerships with schools, the early childhood industry and community. This role will support the long-term vision of UNE Tamworth to be the transformative force in regional education, where every student’s journey matters and every pathway leads to success.
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood & Primary Education, you will work with a highly productive team that delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This position requires a dynamic individual to engage with the community, strengthening and extending our partnerships with early childhood settings and schools. The workload and will comprise of 40% Academic Leadership and Service, 40% Teaching and 20% Research. Fractional appointments will be considered.

The incumbent will:

  • Commit to community engagement and establish sustainable links between industry (i.e. Early Childhood) and UNE;
  • Facilitate outstanding student experience and create a bold and innovative learning culture;
  • Undertake high-impact research;
  • Align themselves with the UNE’s Strategic Plan, Future Fit 2021 - 2030 and its goals of facilitating Personalised Learning Journeys, Empowering Communities and Building Resilience.
