THE OPPORTUNITY
Monash University’s School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment is seeking a dynamic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our team in the fields of Earth observation/remote sensing, and quantitative geospatial science. This role offers an exciting opportunity to tackle pressing global challenges through innovative research and teaching across one or more key components of the physical Earth System where the candidate will be an expert. This could include the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, land surface, or solid Earth, as well as planetary science.
In this role you will develop a significant programme of high quality, impactful and externally-funded research, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and postdoctoral scientists.
The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will teach subjects including remote sensing, geospatial data analysis, and/or geographic information science, and other topics of their speciality. This will include contributing to a range of undergraduate and Masters units within the School and in the Faculty of Science.
As the successful candidate, you will introduce innovative ideas to both research and teaching, building upon and enhancing the existing strengths of the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment, while fostering new collaborations within Monash University and beyond.
