    Who we are looking for - Essential Criteria:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A doctoral degree in Software Engineering and related fields like Computer Science and Information Technology.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated teaching experience at higher education level, especially in Software Engineering related areas, as well as in the general computer science/information technology fields.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging, student-centred learning experiences at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice.
  • Proven research excellence in Software Engineering (or related fields), with active contributions to advancing the field, demonstrated through a strong track record such as high-impact publications in Q1 journals.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

YOUR NEW ROLE

This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive excellence in teaching and research in Software Engineering. You will play a key role in shaping curriculum initiatives, advancing research, and contributing to governance within the school and the broader university.

As part of the growing Software Engineering team in the School of EECMS, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching, including Software Engineering units/courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Supervise student research projects, fostering critical thinking and innovation.
  • Contribute to research activities by collaborating on impactful projects and supporting research teams.
  • Foster a strong research culture by mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Engage with global campuses and industry partners to strengthen international collaborations and research networks.
