Description

ABOUT US

The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is a UKCRC registered and NCRI Clinical Trials Unit group member: https://www.ctc.ucl.ac.uk/
It is one of the largest cancer trials centres in the UK, with more than 115 members of staff managing >80 research studies. The CTC conducts clinical studies in oncology, both nationally and internationally, with a cross-disciplinary approach to evaluate anti-cancer treatments, and investigate methods of diagnosis and early detection.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) to oversee and manage the CTC’s internal and external educational and training courses, alongside another CTC Education and Training Lead (Statistics/Methodology).
A key aim will be to deliver an expanded programme of teaching to undergraduates, postgraduates and health professionals. Some of this is delivered online but most is delivered face-to-face.
This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover post, the duration of which is dependent upon return of the post holder. We expect the duration of the post to be for at least 9 months (up to a maximum of 12 months). The expected start date would be August-September 2025.
This post is also offered as a secondment to internal UCL employees only. If you would like to apply for the secondment, please state this clearly on your application and see relevant guidance https://www.ucl.ac.uk/human-resources/internal-secondment-guidance
Appointments are usually made at the beginning of the salary scale.
The CTC offers hybrid working with staff being able to work flexibly between our office and home, along with core hours and flexible start/finish times – a minimum of 60% FTE office attendance is required (minimum of 3 days per week).
