Department/ Unit: Department of Fine Arts Closing Date: March 6, 2026 The Department of Fine Arts in the Faculty of Arts at CUHK offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in studio art and art history. Its curriculum adopts an inclusive approach to Chinese art and culture – traditional, modern, international and contemporary. Applicants should (i) possess a relevant PhD degree, preferably in at least one of the following fields: (1) Chinese or Asian art history, (2) modern and contemporary art history, and (3) theory art and technology; (ii) have at least 3 years of teaching/professional experience; (iii) demonstrate the ability for high quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (iv) have excellent communication skills in English and Chinese. Experience in postgraduate programme management and curatorship will be an asset. The appointee will (a) teach courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; (b) participate in programme administration and student advising; (c) coordinate experiential learning activities, including but not limited to workshops, conferences, overseas study tours and other exchange programmes; and (d) take up other administrative duties as assigned. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing in August 2026, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
