The School of Environment and Natural Resources is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Semester Lecturer to teach ENR 3200: Environmental and Natural Resources Policy during the Summer 2025 semester at Stone Laboratory, located in Put-In-Bay, Ohio.
This course explores the institutions and processes that shape environmental and natural resources policy in the United States. It emphasizes the relationships between societies and their biophysical environments and how these relationships influence sustainability in both human and natural communities.

The course covers:

  • Constitutional foundations of environmental policy
  • Roles of Congress, the Executive Branch, and bureaucratic agencies
  • The court system’s role in resolving environmental disputes
  • Key environmental legislation and sustainability frameworks
  • The influence of values, science, history, and stakeholder relationships on policy processes

Students will gain a deep understanding of environmental governance and develop analytical skills to evaluate policy processes and sustainability outcomes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Environmental Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, Natural Resources, or a related field
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the college level
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. environmental policy and governance
