Lecturer
The University of Bath is an international centre for research and teaching excellence, committed to achieving global reach. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer working at the intersection of Science and Technology Studies and International Development, to join the Department of Social and Policy Sciences (DPSP).
ABOUT US
DSPS is committed to being interdisciplinary, progressive, and impactful in both research and teaching.
Its academic staff come from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds including economics, sociology, politics, anthropology, geography, development studies, social and public policy, social work, and criminology.
The Department is home to the Centre for Development Studies, the Centre for the Analysis of Social Policy and Society, and the Centre for Death and Society. It also enjoys strong links with the Institute for Policy Research and with the Centre for 21st Century Public Health.
DSPS belongs to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which also contains academic departments in Anthropology, Criminology, Development Studies, Economics, Geography, Politics, Social and Public Policy, Social Work, and Sociology. Collaboration across the Faculties’ departments is strongly encouraged, as well as with staff from the School of Management, and the Faculties of Science and of Engineering.
You will be expected to conduct original, rigorous, and internationally significant research on climate change, sustainability, climate policy and governance.
You will make a significant contribution to the research culture of DSPS and Faculty by consolidating and expanding cross-disciplinary links in these thematic areas, and by helping to build our already strong community of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers.
Core teaching will contribute to the International Development suite of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to other units across the Department and Faculty as appropriate.
