Fixed Term, Full Time Appointment (4 years) Level B: $122,478 - $141,446 plus 17% superannuation Located at Wollongong Campus About the School The School of Mathematics and Physics (SMAP) is part of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS), a globally recognised faculty known for high‑impact research, strong industry partnerships, and innovative teaching. SMAP delivers programs in Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Statistics, and provides essential teaching across Engineering, Computer Science, Education, Public Health, Psychology and related disciplines. The School fosters a collaborative academic environment committed to excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement. About the Role As Lecturer in the Mathematical Sciences, you will contribute to high‑quality teaching, impactful research, and active participation in governance and service. You will strengthen the School’s research profile in areas such as nonlinear partial differential equations, geometric analysis, differential geometry, and curvature flows, with particular interest in expertise related to the Cartan–Hadamard conjecture, target curve flow, or Sobolev curvature flows. The role includes developing and delivering engaging learning experiences, supervising students, contributing to curriculum enhancement, and maintaining a program of education‑focused research to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning. You will also participate in School and Faculty governance and help foster a positive, inclusive academic culture. This is an on‑campus role, with the successful candidate expected to be based at the Wollongong Campus for the majority of the time.
