QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Genuine interest in Corporate Finance, M&A, and Securities;
  • Experience with ALF Software, Athennian Software, and Level 1 CORES accreditation is preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to handle a heavy and varied workload;
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills;
  • Advanced problem solving skills, including the ability to set priorities while dealing with conflicting and emerging priorities;
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and expedite the flow of work through the Corporate Services Department, initiating any follow-up action as appropriate;
  • Prepare legal documents, letters, memos, and other documents as required according to general precedents and instructions from the Manager and Corporate Services Clerks;
  • Use initiative and good judgment to relieve the Manager and Corporate Services Clerks of administrative detail including but not limited to accounting, file management, and diarization;
  • Manage incoming and outgoing legal materials;
  • Provide excellent client service to both internal and external clients;
  • Prepare special reports, which may include gathering and summarizing data;
  • Oversee file management including the creation, monitoring and maintenance of client files;
  • Other duties as assigned.
