GROW WITH US AND BE YOUR BEST

Clark Wilson LLP is seeking a trademark focused Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Intellectual Property practice group.
Clark Wilson is a leading, innovative law firm in British Columbia, comprised of approximately 90 highly accomplished lawyers and 140 support staff. We were recently named “Most Innovative Workplace” by the Canadian Bar Association and have been recognized by Canadian Lawyer magazine as one of Western Canada’s top 10 regional firms. Proud to be leaders in our markets, we are celebrating over 100 years of advising our clients on a comprehensive range of legal issues.
The firm’s trademark practice has grown significantly over the last decade and is now one of the busiest in the city. It boasts an open and collegial approach to client service, top tier clients, and practitioners who have been lauded as being amongst the very best in Canada. To help meet continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced trademark assistant or paralegal to join the team.

Ideal candidates for this position will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, and will possess skills, qualifications and experience that include the following:

  • graduate of an accredited legal administrative assistant program or relevant experience.
  • a minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment supporting a trademark practitioner (with preference to candidates who have longer/more extensive experience).
  • strong technical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • the ability to prepare documents pertaining to trademark files, both for issuance to clients and for filing with CIPO.
  • the ability to handle stringent deadlines and the volume of a busy practice.
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • the ability to build rapport with the team, and provide support to lawyers, agents, legal administrative assistants and paralegals; and
  • general administrative duties as required.

Additionally, candidates will also possess the following attributes:

  • a client-centered, pro-active approach with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
  • the ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality, and to adapt to changing demands; and
  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team.
