We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Insurance and Health Law team. The position provides an opportunity to work with a vibrant and team oriented group of people. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Canadian law firm, be energetic, flexible, highly motivated and driven to succeed.

Responsibilities

Liaise with other legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers and clients regarding file progress
Draft and transcribe legal documents, basic pleadings and correspondence
Manage and maintain bring forward system for tasks and appointments
Organize meetings and schedule discoveries, trials, and other court dates
Prepare application records
Field client inquiries
Keep paper and electronic files up to date, including creating binders, labels and CMPA files
Process all outgoing correspondence and sort incoming mail
Prepare expense reports
Prepare monthly accounts
Other general administrative duties as required
