JOB DESCRIPTION:

Yoon Law, APC is a boutique employment class action law firm. Established in 2001, we are dedicated to protecting the rights of employees and fighting for justice. We are looking for a dedicated legal assistant interested in pursuing a career in law or looking for experience working directly with attorneys to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience. We are willing to train.
The ideal candidate has excellent grades, communication skills, computer skills, proofing and editing skills. They work well under pressure and can prioritize multiple deadlines. They are experienced with Windows and MS Word, and for Word, they are especially familiar with document formatting/styles. They are willing to work overtime when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum GPA 3.25
  • BA/BS required
  • Must possess a high degree of organization skills with ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities while managing multiple (sometimes competing) tasks.
  • Ability to perform secretarial and clerical duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
  • A reliable means of transportation to be present on-site Monday-Friday

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 year work experience in law office/legal environment
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, principles, procedures and forms as related to secretarial work.
  • Interest and/or experience in business marketing, social media, graphic design experience or education (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Facebook, Twitter, Squarespace).
  • Spanish Speaker/Bilingual as well as experience with office management strongly preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents and correspondence.
  • Ensure timely payment and tracking of various state filing fees, law firm bills, and other legal vendor invoices.
  • Provide various clerical and administrative support to legal team, including: distribution of correspondence, memorandums, forms; screening and/or responding to telephone messages, and routine correspondence and request for information; and provide miscellaneous support services, including copying, faxing, meeting arrangements, processing incoming/outgoing mail, arranging for messenger services and word processing.
  • Prepare documents for filing with state courts.
  • Electronically file documents with state and federal courts.
  • Prepare checklists, timelines and contacts lists.
  • Maintain and update calendaring system.
  • Follow procedures with respect to confidentiality of certain legal matters.
  • Update the firm’s social media accounts and strategize marketing campaigns.
