Varghese & Associates, a large in-house counsel defense firm and Employees of the Law Department, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, is seeking two Legal Administrative Support team members to join our newly created team in Bloomington, Illinois. This is a great entry level opportunity for individuals seeking to gain legal experience with a focus on growth and development. Qualified candidates would be responsible for providing administrative assistance to the New York PIP Claim Litigation office based in our Jericho, New York office. The team is comprised of multiple roles and levels including, Legal Administrative Support, Legal Secretary, and Paralegal. While every day can provide different experiences and opportunities, a typical day involves providing administrative assistance to Law Department colleagues including attorneys and leadership in a fast-paced civil litigation environment. The office allows for collaborative environments with access to team members for support. This position provides diversity of work and the opportunity for career development. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. Hours for the position are Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm CST or 8:00am to 4:30pm CST. LOCATION: 1 State Farm Plaza, Bloomington, IL 61710-0001 Legal Administrative Support responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide administrative support and assistance to Law Department colleagues Opening and closing electronic case matter files Electronic filing on arbitration and litigation matters Communicating with Claim partners Running reports in case management software Tracking data in Excel Other tasks as assigned Qualifications Previous Experience required/preferred Office environment experience Strong customer service background Key Skills required: Strong organizational skills, prioritizing, decision making, multitasking, time management, and proactivity Strong written and oral communication skills (attention to detail, accuracy of data entry) Accurate typing skills Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements is a competitive advantage Experience with medical records collection through subpoenas and/or authorizations is a competitive advantage Technology/software experience required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of a Case Management system Working knowledge of a Document Storage system Additional Details Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately.
