Description

MSR Solicitors is currently seeking a Legal Administrator to collaborate closely with the head of the department, providing essential support in managing caseloads. This role will encompass a combination of administrative tasks and paralegal responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations within the family law department. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and preparing legal documents and liaising with clients. They will also be required to stay up-to-date with the latest regulations and requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a legal role preferred.
  • Law Degree (LLB/LLM) preferred
  • Familiarity with family law procedures, terminology, and court protocols, desirable prior work in a family law department or legal practice
  • Ability to grasp the procedural and processing requirements for family matters
  • Develop knowledge of the firm and its potential client base
  • Demonstrated empathy especially important in family law due to the emotional nature of cases 
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to handle sensitive client information in a confidential and discreet manner
  • Demonstrated professionalism, commitment to quality service, and proactive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously for a caseload of up to 30 files
  • Proficient at multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Meet deadlines consistently and effectively communicate case progress and issues to supervisors
  • Exhibit flexibility and initiative in handling assignments
  • Foster a positive work environment and build strong team relationships
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Monday case management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner
  • Learn from experiences, both positive and negative, and adapt accordingly

Responsibilities

ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:

  • Compile legal bundles efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance standards are met and maintained.
  • Handle printing, scanning, and general administrative duties for the solicitor.

PARALEGAL TASKS:

  • Document Preparation: Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as petitions, affidavits, and court forms, able to use HMCTS Court Portal
  • File Management: Organising and maintaining case files, correspondence, and evidence securely and efficiently -
  • Diary Management: Scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings
  • Client Communication: Handling calls, emails, and routine client inquiries with empathy and professionalism
  • Court Preparation: Assisting with trial prep, including preparation of Bundles, case summaries and organising exhibits
