WHAT ABOUT YOU:

  • Hold a law degree and be admitted as a legal practitioner in New Zealand.
  • 2-4 years’ experience as a Solicitor or Legal Counsel.
  • Ideally familiar with legislative requirements of the Privacy Act and official requests for information.
  • Strong customer focus with sensitivity to the needs of the elderly.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organisational, proactive, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Prioritise competing demands across a range of activities with attention to detail.
  • Honest, conscientious, self-motivated, with keenness for ongoing learning.
  • Commitment to ongoing quality improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to change and to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.

The purpose of this role is to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world through delivering on Bupa’s ambition to become the world’s most customer-centric healthcare company. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday - Friday with a flexible work-from-home hybrid environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Support the management of official requests for information (RFI), including personal information requests pursuant to the Privacy Act.
  • Communicate with residents, family members, regulators, and lawyers who submit RFIs within legislative timeframes.
  • Review and administer Bupa’s contracts with its funding agencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, and ensure compliance with privacy, information management, and data protection.
  • Manage the Bupa requests-for-information inbox and the contracts admin email inbox from Bupa’s funding agencies.
  • Build relationships with funders with regards to contracts, changes in contract process, and associated rate changes.
  • Develop and maintain a database of Bupa’s funding contracts and associated TLA rates across districts in which Bupa care homes operate.
  • Support the Legal Director and wider legal team, and gain exposure to areas outside of the core duties and responsibilities of the role.
  • Closely collaborate with Feedback and Resolution / Clinical Services Improvement Teams.
