Description The Legal AI Implementation Intern is a newly created role at the Garza Law Firm designed to support the firm’s strategic investment in Cassidy, a modern AI automation platform. Cassidy provides a flexible foundation for building AI-powered workflows that streamline legal operations, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance attorney and client experiences. This position is ideal for current college students or recent graduates seeking hands-on experience applying coursework in information systems, data science, machine learning, and AI ethics to a real-world professional services environment. You will collaborate directly with attorneys, administrators, and technical stakeholders to design, implement, and scale AI solutions that improve efficiency and client outcomes across the firm. This role offers the opportunity to help architect that system from the ground up while seeing your academic training translated into measurable operational impact. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with attorneys and administrative leaders to map real-world legal and operational workflows into AI-driven automations within the Cassidy platform. Apply concepts from Information Systems, Data Mining, and Intelligent Systems to design scalable, maintainable AI workflows and dashboards. Prototype, test, and refine AI solutions using principles learned in Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Systems Design coursework. Analyze, clean, and validate structured and unstructured data to ensure AI outputs are accurate, explainable, and actionable. Assist in designing data visualizations and performance dashboards aligned with Data Visualization and Business Intelligence concepts. Research and recommend best practices related to AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI use, particularly within a legal services context. Develop documentation, workflow diagrams, and user guides to support long-term adoption and knowledge transfer. Train attorneys and administrative staff on AI tools and workflows, translating technical functionality into practical daily use. Monitor workflow performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend iterative improvements based on data and user feedback. Skills & Experience Strong foundation in data analytics, machine learning concepts, or AI systems. Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or comparable data tools preferred. Experience with or interest in workflow automation, systems integration, or dashboard development. Ability to think critically about system design, data quality, and process optimization. Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining technical concepts to non-technical users. Curiosity, professionalism, and a strong interest in applying AI responsibly in real-world environments. Additional Information This position is an internship or entry-level role, with part-time or full-time availability depending on academic schedules and firm needs. This position does not have the authority to practice law, provide legal advice, or set legal strategy.
