OVERVIEW

I am seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to assist me as a solicitor. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills;

  • strong organisational and communication skills
  • Have good general IT skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (training will be provided for the case management systems used in the practice)
  • able to do varied tasks contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our services
  • Although not essential, some sales and marketing experience is advantageous.
  • This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our services.

SKILLS

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills for reviewing documents and identifying key information.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks including document management and scheduling.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for clients and colleagues alike.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and processes is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist solicitor with general administration tasks including emails, telephone calls and letters.
  • Assist solicitor in preparing for meetings.
  • Opening client matters and sending out client care documents.
  • Preparing draft documents.
  • Assisting solicitor with case documents.
  • Maintain organised files and records, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Manage schedules, appointments and deadlines for legal proceedings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to client inquiries and maintaining professional communication.
  • Coordinate with external parties such as courts, clients, and other law firms as necessary.
