We are looking for a skilled commercial real estate legal assistant and enthusiastic member of our small legal team.
Our firm is focused on providing exceptional, personal service to clients in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, with some residential real estate, estate planning and administration and business and corporate work. This is an immediate vacancy and an opportunity to work in a small firm with a great environment and high caliber of work. Three lawyers and three staff, PATH connected.
Duties & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be confident independently (within minimal supervision) managing commercial real estate sale, purchase and mortgage transactions from start to finish. Their duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Working primarily as the assistant for the managing partner;
Managing and organizing his files and correspondence;
Dictations, document drafting and revisions;
Gathering the required information from clients and other sources to open each file;
Performing, then reading and interpreting title searches and off-title searches;
Preparing documents in Teraview;
Correspondence with other solicitors, clerks, City staff and lending institutions; and
Some admin and account preparation.
Examples of Partner’s Work:
Multi-million dollar real estate acquisitions and financing
Joint Venture, Co-ownership, Development Agreements
Commercial contract drafting and negotiation
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience as a real estate clerk / legal assistant; Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service; Confidence with Microsoft Office, Teraview, PClaw; Ability to work independently, multi-task and balance many priorities; Superior typing skills; Detail oriented and professional.
Salary will be based on experience.
