POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injury Division at Diamond & Diamond Lawyers Calgary. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team in all aspects of personal injury cases, ensuring smooth operations and superior client service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or certificate in Legal Assistant studies or relevant field.
  • Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant in a law firm, preferably in a Litigation and/or Personal Injury Law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, filing and serving of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and correspondence.
  • Manage and organize an electronic filing system, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and up-to-date.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, and maintain calendars for lawyers.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Assist in the preparation for questionings, mediations and trials, including organizing documents and coordinating logistics.
  • Assist with productions and undertakings lists, including follow-ups.
  • Handle incoming inquiries from clients and provide timely and professional assistance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by supervising lawyers or management.
