SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous legal practice support and/or administrative experience, preferably in government.
  • Knowledge of the legal practice and procedure in the various courts and tribunals and legal terminology is desirable.
  • Background in finance and experience with Finance One is desirable.
  • Background in procurement in advantageous, preferably in government.
  • A relevant tertiary degree is desirable.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a member of a team, you will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the operations and workflows of the Legal Branch. You will use your initiative to prioritise tasks in supporting the allocation of work across the branch to meet deadlines and demands, aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Deliver legal administrative processes, including court filing, administration of archive systems, and record management.
  • Undertake and deliver financial administration in compliance with EPA’s financial management policies and procedures, including procurement activities, timely processing of invoices and assisting with budget management.
  • Deliver specific service initiatives, projects, and process improvements in consultation with the Legal Practice Manager.
  • Support the development and improvement of legal processes, procedures, file management and information systems, implementing improvements as required.
  • Support allocation of work to solicitors across the Legal Branch to meet demand priorities; assist in the management of workflows to ensure deadlines are met.
