Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Legal Assistant in the Childcare department at Hutchinson Thomas, you will be helping a busy team act for families and children. You will be responsible for assisting with legal aid applications, liaising with clients and diary management, among other responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to the solicitors within the childcare department
  • Efficiently manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Prepare and format legal documents
  • Manage solicitors’ diaries, schedule appointments, and maintain an organised filing system
  • Assist with client liaison, handling telephone calls, and maintaining positive relationships with clients
  • Conduct legal research and compile information as required by the solicitors
  • Prepare billing statements, track expenses, and assist with financial administration tasks
  • Collaborate with the wider legal support team and contribute to the overall efficiency of the department
