JOB SUMMARY

We act as counsel at all levels of our civil justice system. We are defense counsel for insurers and self-insured companies, managing litigation arising from all types of losses including product liability, occupiers’ liability, professional negligence, motor vehicle liability, property losses, municipal liability, medical negligence and sexual abuse. We firmly believe the success of our firm and our lawyers begins with our administrative staff.
ROGERS PARTNERS LLP is looking for a professional insurance defence, legal assistant with at least 3 years of experience to join our team.

CANDIDATES CONSIDERED WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized College;
  • 3 years of insurance defence experience;
  • Proficient use of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
  • Proficient in MS Office product suite;
  • Strong client service orientation;
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in grammar, spelling and punctuation;
  • Exceptional organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Self disciplined, motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Conscientious attention to detail;
  • Ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Responsibilities

Potential candidates will be responsible for maintaining files from opening to closing; drafting correspondence, document preparation; e-filing; arranging and maintaining the lawyers’ calendar; tracking client deadline; scheduling examination for discoveries and Court appearances; maintaining file organization; updating internal databases; communicating with clients and third parties and transcribing dictation.
