A well-established and leading law firm specializing in the representation of homeowner, condominium, and community associations is seeking an experienced full-time Legal Assistant for our Indianapolis office. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the legal team. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The general business hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. This is a non-exempt, in-office position with no remote work available. The starting hourly rate for this position is $27.47, contingent upon level of experience. To be considered for this position, you MUST apply at: https://recruiting.paylocity.com/recruiting/jobs/Apply/457191/Kovitz-Shifrin-Nesbit/Legal-Assistant Duties/Responsibilities: · Coordinate appointments, phone conferences, and meetings, including all correspondence · Assist attorneys with calendar management · Manage legal documentation and correspondence, including the mailing/shipping necessary · Prepare New Client Intake Forms · Prepare New Client Packets (including Engagement Letters and Retainer Agreements) · Assist with client marketing events · Assist with billing entries · Prepare letters and correspondence to clients and third parties · Profile document management database with all relevant documents, emails, etc. · Organize and maintain client documentation in physical and electronic format · E-Recording of Association documents · E-File court documents in various Indiana courts · Copy, collate, and prepare court documents for service via the sheriff’s office or certified mail · Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow · Provide status updates to the legal team · Any other duties as assigned Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: · Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience required · 3+ years of practical experience as a legal assistant preferred · Project management experience is a plus · Ability to focus on tasks at hand despite busy environment · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written · Able to work in a fast-paced environment with challenging tasks and daily deadlines · Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) · Must be able to type greater than 50 wpm with greater than 90% accuracy · Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills · Must be comfortable working independently yet be a team player · Attention to detail and proofreading skills required · Experience with LexisNexis preferred, but not required Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods of stationary work at a desk and computer · Prolonged periods of standing · Occasional lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds
