de VRIES LITIGATION LLP is a top tier Toronto based boutique estates and trusts litigation law firm. We offer a collegial and supportive work environment with a low staff turnover. Hybrid option for office/home available after 6 months.
We are currently looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team. Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and Estate Litigation is an asset.
REQUIREMENTS
· Legal Administration/Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent experience in a civil litigation environment;
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Soluno/Actionstep;
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
· Ability to multi-task, proactively resolve any issues that arise, and work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines;
· Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure is an advantage.
· Drafting a range of documents, courts forms, correspondence and reporting letters for review by lawyer;
· Preparing court material and documents;
· Completing legal administrative tasks including initiating conflicts checks, file openings, billing and document review and production;
· Proofreading and editing of correspondence and documents;
· Strong communication skills and work ethic;
· Organized and detail-oriented to keep track of multiple files for lawyers;
· Administrative duties such as managing emails/calendars, processing accounts, electronic and hard copy filing with the court;
· Issuing and filing of court material and documents with Justice Service Online;
· Uploading, hyperlinking court material and documents with Case Centre;
· Other administrative and general office duties as assigned.
