Description

We are a well-established, fast paced firm located in Surrey B.C. with a strong reputation for high-quality legal services. As we continue to expand, we seek to fill the role for a Legal Administrative Assistant.

Knowledge and experience:

  • 2+ years of family law experience would be an asset
  • Certificate or diploma from the Legal Administrative Assistant program is an asset
  • Attention to detail
  • Task flexibility and ability to work on multiple tasks at one time
  • Preparing correspondence including letters and emails
  • Familiarity with the Supreme Court Family Rules
  • Familiarity with the Provincial Court Family Rules would be an asset
  • Preparing, filing, and serving Court documents
  • Maintain a BF (Bring Forward) system
  • Organized and able to work under strict deadlines, with an ability to prioritize tasks
  • Maintain a calendar and appointments for 2 lawyers
  • Basic familiarity or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with DivorceMate is an asset
  • Fluent in Punjabi and Hindi is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • drafting/revising/proofreading pleadings and documents;
  • preparing and coordinating for hearings and trials;
  • preparing List of Documents for all files;
  • conducting online legal searches and working directly with lawyers on all file matters.
  • You will be responsible for conduct of client files from start to finish with little supervision and must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, great organization and the ability to work under pressure are all attributes of our ideal candidate.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
