Description:
We are a well-established, fast paced firm located in Surrey B.C. with a strong reputation for high-quality legal services. As we continue to expand, we seek to fill the role for a Legal Administrative Assistant.
Knowledge and experience:
- 2+ years of family law experience would be an asset
- Certificate or diploma from the Legal Administrative Assistant program is an asset
- Attention to detail
- Task flexibility and ability to work on multiple tasks at one time
- Preparing correspondence including letters and emails
- Familiarity with the Supreme Court Family Rules
- Familiarity with the Provincial Court Family Rules would be an asset
- Preparing, filing, and serving Court documents
- Maintain a BF (Bring Forward) system
- Organized and able to work under strict deadlines, with an ability to prioritize tasks
- Maintain a calendar and appointments for 2 lawyers
- Basic familiarity or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Familiarity with DivorceMate is an asset
- Fluent in Punjabi and Hindi is preferred.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- drafting/revising/proofreading pleadings and documents;
- preparing and coordinating for hearings and trials;
- preparing List of Documents for all files;
- conducting online legal searches and working directly with lawyers on all file matters.
- You will be responsible for conduct of client files from start to finish with little supervision and must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, great organization and the ability to work under pressure are all attributes of our ideal candidate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
