Description Summary: As part of the legal community since 1975, Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, PLC provides the highest caliber legal counsel in a broad range of practice areas. The Firm is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant who will provide support for multiple attorneys in our Nashville office. Responsibilities: Liaise between internal and external third parties, including claims representatives from insurance companies and clients regarding administrative tasks and scheduling Gather, organize and maintain relevant information from sources through subpoenas or written requests (ex: medical records, employment records, etc.). Ensure proper indexing and filing of documents in files and case management software. Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents (form pleadings, motions, and discovery) as requested by supervising attorney(s) Perform administrative duties for supervising attorney(s), such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, and opening/organizing/closing case files Compile information for potential lay and expert witnesses, involving trial preparation, trial exhibits, coordination of witnesses, preparation meetings, and conduct jury panel research as needed Record, either periodically or regularly, billable time (as appropriate) Reviewing, scanning, and emailing the daily paper mail Management of invoices, including requesting and mailing out checks for payment Other duties may be assigned by supervisor(s) Requirements Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in the legal assistant or paralegal field. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, solid proofreading skills and the ability to work in a team environment. The position requires long periods of sitting/mostly computer work.
Responsibilities
The Legal Assistant will provide support for multiple attorneys, including liaising with third parties and managing case files. Responsibilities also include drafting legal documents and performing administrative duties.
