Description

Edgar Chana Law is a boutique estate planning law firm assisting high-net worth families with their estate planning, including preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trusts. The training plan will have the employee practicing administrative and reception duties as part of the legal assistant role and preparing estate planning documents in a clerk role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with drafting estate planning documents preferred but not required;
  • An undergraduate degree OR completion of law clerk/legal assistant program with a strong interest in Wills and Estates (we will also consider foreign LL.B. degrees);
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills is a must;
  • Office Software Skills, including MS Word, PDF, and cloud-based services;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills; and
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing preliminary drafts of estate planning and estate administration documents, including Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trusts;
  • Managing electronic and hard copy filing system;
  • Preparing packages for signing meetings and attending at signing meetings as a witness;
  • Supporting Lawyers in legal and administrative duties;
  • Answering phones, greeting clients, serving coffee to clients, maintaining cleanliness of servery, and general reception duties; and
  • Assisting in organizing files, including matter opening, matter closing.
