SALARY AND BENEFITS

The salary for this role is up to £24,000 per annum depending on experience.
Annual holiday entitlement in a full calendar year is 20 days, increasing yearly to 25 days by 5 years’ service. This is in addition to bank holidays and an extra 3 days to be used between Christmas and New Year.
Furthermore, we offer paid sick leave, dependant’s leave, and birthday leave. We have a health benefit in place with Medicash, which new starters can join after 6 months’ service. In addition, we offer staff wellbeing and social events as well as annual teambuilding. Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking applications from candidates who have good secretarial and administration skills to assist Fee Earners with legal work in relation to Lifetime Planning matters.
The type of work you will assist with includes Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Grant of Probate and Estate Administration. Ideally, we are looking for candidates with 2 years’ experience working as a Legal Secretary/Assistant. Experience, or interest in, private client is advantageous.
To succeed in this role, you will need effective administration and communication skills as well as good time management including the ability to work under pressure. In addition, a caring and empathetic approach towards both clients and colleagues is required. The successful candidate will also need to be organised, motivated and proactive. Attention to detail and good teamwork and cooperation are also vital.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Attend upon clients and others to take instructions and information.
  • Open new files on the case management system and prepare initial client care documentation.
  • Type dictated letters, documents, and notes.
  • Obtain ID from clients and complete ID checks in accordance with Anti-Money Laundering Procedures.
  • Liaise with third parties such as HMRC, Estate Agents, OPG, Probate Registry, Beneficiaries and Attorneys etc.
  • Attend home visits with Fee Earners as and when required.
  • Assist with progression of matters such as general chasers for documents.
  • Prepare and send costs information including bills to clients.
  • General administration duties such as scanning post onto the system.
