POSITION AVAILABLE: LEGAL ASSISTANT – TRAFFIC DEFENSE

Merits of Manitoba, the province’s longest-standing traffic defense firm, is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant to take a leadership role in managing and growing our practice. This position involves overseeing all aspects of traffic-related cases with the goal of saving clients time, money, and merits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a paralegal or legal administrative role.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of traffic ticket cases, including client intake, case management, and legal research.
  • Draft, prepare, and file legal documents related to traffic matters, including motions, petitions, and correspondence.
  • Review and interpret traffic tickets, citations, and applicable laws to assist in developing defense strategies.
  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, required documentation, and upcoming proceedings.
  • Collaborate with Crown attorneys to pursue favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files.
  • Assist in preparation for Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) suspension hearings.
