Description This role enhances attorney effectiveness by providing high-level transactional and administrative support to the Real Estate practice group. The Legal Assistant will be proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with demonstrated experience supporting complex real estate transactions and conducting land use and zoning research. Key Responsibilities Include: Provide proactive legal and administrative support in real estate, land use/zoning research, and transactional matters Formatting and proofreading contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence Manage attorney calendars, tracking key transaction dates and managing deadlines Support land use attorneys with zoning applications, permitting processes, and municipal filings Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, governmental agencies, and other parties involved in transactions Coordinate document execution, notarization, and recording with appropriate authorities Assist with opening new matters: gather relevant information, initiate conflict checks, and draft engagement letters Accurate entry of all relevant documents in the Firm’s document management system (DMS) Assist with time entry and billing procedures Help maintain professionalism and client confidentiality in all interactions and documentation Other duties as assigned Requirements Prior experience in commercial real estate and/or land use and zoning research preferred Familiarity with transactional processes including purchase and sale agreements, commercial leasing, and closing procedures Working knowledge of land use and zoning research, including agency filings and permit tracking Strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to manage sensitive information with discretion Works effectively as a team member, in support of overarching goal of excellent client service Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
