Unified LLP is growing again!
We are a collegial and collaborative law firm practicing plaintiff side employment law, human rights and disability insurance law (short-term and long-term disability).
Our office is looking to hire a Legal Assistant to join our growing team.

Summary of Responsibilities include:

  • With direction, complete administrative tasks related to short-term and long-term disability matters
  • Draft, review and proofread correspondence, documents and forms ensuring accuracy and completeness before sending out or filing
  • Organize, open and manage client files
  • Order requisite records, including medical records
  • Ensure time-sensitive documents are managed effectively
  • Be familiar with the filing requirements for Ontario Courts
  • Maintain tickler systems to monitor key dates for task management
  • Schedule meetings and co-ordinate appointments as required
  • General administrative duties including scanning, faxing, and binding
  • Posting of expenses (matter and non-matter) and paying invoices
  • Others duties as assigned

Core Skills & Requirements:

  • REQUIRED: Experience and/or strong familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure of Ontario
  • REQUIRED: Minimum of 2-year experience as a legal assistant in litigation
  • REQUIRED: Minimum of 1 year experience as a legal assistant in disability law (i.e., short-term and long-term disability)
  • ASSET: experience with Clio
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat or Foxit
  • Possess well-developed organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities with ease in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills help you to build relationships and provide excellent client service
  • As a confident self-starter, you work well both independently, and in a team environment
  • Operate with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Show good judgment and respond well to constructive feedback

Salary: competitive with industry standards and will depend on factors, including level of relevant experience and fit with our firm.
Starting from $55,000 – $70,000.
Benefits: The position also includes group benefits.
This is an In-Person role.
