The trust is looking for two Band 7 Claims and Inquest managers to create a fully established in-house legal department. The department is currently 80% outsourced and a new department is being developed.
The post holder will be responsible for managing inquests from inception to conclusion, including some advocacy at straightforward inquests and PIRs.
The post holder will manage complex clinical negligence claims and ensure that all clinicians are supported effectively. Full investigation of the claim and efficient communication with NHS Resolution and panel is imperative to ensure successful outcomes to clinical and non-clinical claims.
The post holder will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders and identify areas of improvements in patient safety and governance for the benefit of patients and staff.
For further information, please see the attached trust job description and person specification for a full list of duties and responsibilities.
