Position Summary • Collaborating with a team comprising of legal counsels and paralegal. Act as an individual contributor. • Provide practical first-line legal advice and risk spotting on assigned matters, and propose mitigations; escalate non-standard or high-risk issues to the Head of Legal and Compliance • Coordinate and claims day-to-day (facts, timelines, evidence, counsel liaison); litigation strategy and final decisions remain with the Head of Legal and Compliance. Role and Responsibilities 1. Contract Management: • Draft, review, and revise contracts to align with the company's legal standards, business needs, regulatory and statutory requirements. • Draft documents, guidelines and communications for employees, customers, suppliers and vendors. 2. Compliance: • Review and advise on all external facing documents such as marketing materials, lucky draw and contests. • Support implementation of compliance controls, checklists, and sampling checks; assist in internal audit or regulator inspections on assigned topics. • Supports the DPO with DPIA screenings, RoPA maintenance, data subject request handling, and privacy clauses. 3. Compliance Program Management: • Supports the administration of the Company’s compliance program and implements assigned workstreams; • Deliver assigned training modules (e.g., contracting basics, privacy hygiene, gifts and anti-bribery, etc.) and track completion. • Monitor assigned regulatory developments, prepares briefings, and coordinates implementation of action items under supervision. • Assist in conducting due diligence and compliance audits (data collection, checklists, reporting) and tracks remediation actions to closure. 4. Risk and Dispute Management: • Prepare and review correspondence, fact chronologies, position papers, pleadings, and administrative reports on assigned matters; aligns with outside counsel where engaged. • Provide issue-spotting and recommendations within remit; escalates strategy choices, settlement positions, or media-sensitive issues to the Head of Legal and Compliance. • Coordinate company participation at meetings, conferences, and proceedings; attends only when expressly delegated in writing for a specific matter. • Assists in assessing potential violations, drafts remediation options, and tracks agreed actions. • Liaises with and manages day-to-day deliverables of appointed external counsel on assigned matters; track budgets and invoices. 5. Overall Legal Support: • Provide legal opinions on various corporate legal issues and concerns within assigned scopes. • Review company policies and guidelines. • Coordinate with cross-functional inputs and external vendors for necessary documents to complete assigned matters. • When necessary, support onsite/field activities for closings, inspections, audits, or regulatory interactions as assigned, in line with the Company policies and ethical standards. • Keep abreast of legal developments. • Perform such other functions or tasks as may be assigned from time to time Skills and Qualifications • Admitted as attorney or lawyer; • At least 7 years as lawyer. Should have experience in law firm and as in-house counsel; • Excellent communications skills and proficient in English (written and oral); • Independent at work and is highly motivated; • Excellent interpersonal skills and is resourceful; • Possess commercial acumen; • Logical and analytical skills; • Able to manage external counsel; • Proficiency in Business and Commercial Law, Contract Law, IP Law, Competition Law, Product Liability Law, Litigation; • Working knowledge of litigation (both civil and criminal). * Please visit Samsung membership to see Privacy Policy, which defaults according to your location.
