WORKING ARRANGEMENTS & LOCATION

This unique role operates on a zero-hours basis, signifying a flexible schedule with no guaranteed minimum hours per week. As an on-call Consultant, you will be called upon as needed to provide expert insights and strategic guidance. This is a fully remote role.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will hold practising certificate in Ireland, have at least 3 years’ experience either in industry, in house or in private practise in at least two or more of the following:

  • investment management (retail and/or institutional);
  • Irish regulated funds;
  • distribution of funds or other financial products;
  • fund establishment (in Ireland and any other jurisdiction);
  • international funds;
  • private equity;
  • real estate;
  • trading and derivatives;
  • custody and administration services;
  • transactional documentation;
  • corporate; and commercial contracts.

Must-have criteria for this role:

  • holding a current practising certificate;
  • law degree in Ireland;
  • At least 3+ years’ legal work experience in the jurisdiction you hold a practising certificate;
  • English language proficiency;
  • Independent, resourceful, and confident with great problem-solving skills;
  • Adept at building relationships internally and externally;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, business sense, and professionalism to communicate with all levels of management, staff and clients located in different jurisdictions;
  • Proactive, able to take the initiative and anticipate the firm’s and client’s needs;
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of personality types and seniority levels;
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a history of pushing for deadline-driven results;
  • Lead and be one step ahead, constantly thinking about what needs to be done next to improve efficiency for the team and our clients;
  • Ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
  • Ability to work autonomously where required, meet deadlines and handle queries from inside and outside the company;
  • A MacBook laptop as we operate a BYOA(pple) policy to allow for maximum agility.

Responsibilities

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Funds lawyer will work within the team to take lead on a variety of client work, including without limitation:

  • financial services regulation;
  • funds (mutual, private equity, real estate, hedge and listed);
  • distribution and placement;
  • investment advice, execution, transition management, overlay;
  • custody and administration;
  • broker-dealer arrangements;
  • trading documentation;
  • entity establishment;
  • transactional documentation (LPAs, Asset and Share Sale Agreements, term sheets, DD etc);
  • corporate lending;
  • commercial contracts;
  • legal research; and
  • writing legal articles

The right candidate will also be adept at:

  • building and managing client relationships;
  • working collaboratively to deliver quality work to clients; and
  • driving strategy to contribute to the success the firm
