SLS Solicitors is a leading legal practice in the North West specialising in housing disrepair. We are currently seeking a Costs Draftsperson & Negotiator to join their team in Oldham on a full-time, permanent basis.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide Cost Drafting support to colleagues within the organization, working closely with a close-knit team to ensure that individual and departmental scheduling expectations/targets are met.
The Costs Draftsperson will manage their allocated drafting caseload and be responsible for the timely production of accurate, high-quality bills of costs, primarily in Housing Disrepair claims.
The Costs Draftsperson would then be responsible for pro-actively chasing offers and negotiating with the paying party.

The ideal candidate:

• At least 2 year of experience in a Bill Drafting role.
• Be proficient in using costs drafting software to draft bills.
• Have excellent communication, organization and research skills.
• Have a good understanding of legislation, case law regarding housing disrepair claim and costs industry regulations.
• Be diligent with high attention to detail.
• A degree level qualification or qualified Costs Lawyer would be desirable, as well as experience using a case management system.

The candidate should be enthusiastic about the work and able to work autonomously and within a team environment while showing initiative in dealing with complex matters.
