JOB SUMMARY

Working as part of a small, supportive team, Legal Counsel will play a key role in delivering legal services, governance, and compliance strategy across the UK business, encompassing Autoglass® and Laddaw®.
This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in IT and Data Protection as well as experience in commercial law, which are essential requirements. It offers an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to transition from private practice to a dynamic in-house environment, where they can gain exposure to a broad range of business-critical legal matters The Legal Counsel ensures the business operates within the law, minimises risks, and supports key objectives by delivering commercially focused legal advice and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified solicitor with circa. 4-5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Strong background in IT law and Data Protection is essential.
  • Experience in commercial law is essential, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex agreements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive knowledge of GDPR and other data protection regulations.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly those involving IT services and data considerations.
  • In-depth understanding of IT-related legal matters, including software licensing, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels. Strong commercial acumen, governance expertise, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal and governance concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, capable of handling competing priorities.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of compliance, governance excellence, and continuous improvement.
