JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel with 6–7 years post-call experience to join our legal team in Abuja. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in litigation, a working knowledge of company secretarial practices, and be familiar with the processes of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Abuja.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
  • Called to the Nigerian Bar with 6–7 years post-call experience.
  • Proven expertise in litigation with a strong track record of handling court cases independently.
  • Sound knowledge of company secretarial duties and CAC processes.
  • Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
  • Must be currently based in Abuja or willing to relocate.

    Pay: ₦250,000.00 - ₦350,000.00 per month

Responsibilities
  • Represent the company and/or clients in legal proceedings, including court appearances, hearings, and arbitration.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and agreements.
  • Provide sound legal advice on a wide range of matters including civil, commercial, and regulatory issues.
  • Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation across company operations.
  • Perform company secretarial duties including maintaining statutory books and filing necessary documentation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
  • Handle corporate governance matters and ensure timely regulatory filings and compliance.
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments that may affect the company or clients.
