Job Description Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain. Location: London or Suffolk (hybrid working arrangements). Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. We have a fantastic opportunity for Legal Counsel – Civil Works Alliance. The Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join the Sizewell C Legal Team, to support with advising on Sizewell C’s interest in the operation of the multi-billion pound Civil Works Alliance – one of the project’s most critical delivery partnerships. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic advice and support on all legal aspects of Sizewell C’s role and interest in the Civil Works Alliance, including governance and ongoing operations; ensuring robust contractual, commercial, and regulatory compliance across a complex, multi-party alliance framework. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues in Delivery, Commercial, Finance and Project Controls as well as external advisers and alliance partners, to ensure the project’s construction activities are underpinned by robust, pragmatic legal solutions. The Skills A qualified solicitor or barrister (England & Wales) with strong experience in construction and engineering law, ideally gained in major infrastructure or energy projects. Solid understanding of construction law and contract management, including NEC and/or FIDIC forms. Proven ability to provide practical, risk-based legal advice in a fast-paced project environment. Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities. A proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on enabling delivery. Why Join Us?
