As an Expansion Legal Counsel, you will be part of Decathlon Indonesia’s Expansion team, ensuring that all our development projects - from new store openings to sustainability initiatives - comply with local and global legal standards. You will play a key role in balancing business growth with legal safety and efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess the legal feasibility of new openings, closings, relocations, renegotiations, downsizing, extensions, sub-leases, or other expansion projects. Gather all relevant documents and information, identify legal risks, and provide clear recommendations. Work closely with the expansion, construction, finance, and operations teams to ensure each project aligns with Decathlon’s real estate policy and legal framework. Define and propose the best deal structure and provide appropriate and efficient solutions to control and mitigate legal risks (zoning and permit requirements, contract form, timing, etc.). Draft, review, and update contracts, letters of intent (LOI), power of attorney (POA), and other related documents. Support and participate in negotiations to secure favorable and compliant agreements. Ensure all legal documents comply with internal committee decisions and are properly registered and enforceable. Ensure all project documentation is properly archived and compliant with internal procedures and local regulations. Collaborate with global and local legal teams to share best practices and strengthen Decathlon’s sustainable real estate initiatives. KPI: Compliance, sustainability, and efficiency in every project Risk management Contract governance Site readiness Legal asset management report 100% of legal documents archived in Hyperlex Compliance rate with AutoDiag Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia (verbal and written). Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Law. 5+ years of experience in corporate, real estate, or in-house legal roles. Strong understanding of commercial contracts, property law, and licensing regulations. Proven practical legal advice to support deal structuring, permitting, and risk mitigation. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing business and legal perspectives. Passionate in Sport The job location will be in Jakarta.
