Lead functional projects and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements. Provide specialized legal advice and support, particularly in high-demand areas such as data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. Identify issues and recommend best practices, leveraging industry knowledge and legal expertise to guide decision-making. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, implementing robust compliance programs and conducting regular audits. 5+ years relevant experience and a Juris doctorate degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience. Proven background in financial regulatory law, gained from a leading international law firm and complemented by in-house experience at a financial institution or technology firm. Strong expertise in EU banking and payments regulation, anti-money laundering, and financial crime compliance. Excellent understanding of the regulatory landscape in Luxembourg and across the EU. Commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders, and senior executives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex regulations into practical, business-focused advice. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team. High level of integrity, discretion, and professional judgment. Experience advising on digital payments, fintech regulation, or emerging technologies in banking. Direct engagement with EU institutions and participation in regulatory consultations or industry groups.
