OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE Join our dynamic global legal team as Legal Counsel and play a pivotal role in shaping Flutter Entertainment's legal strategy across India. Reporting to our Lead Legal Counsel (FEI), you'll be at the forefront of delivering innovative legal solutions that drive business growth while ensuring compliance excellence. This role will have the responsibility for providing expert legal advice on all matters in India. The incumbent will work with the Lead Legal Counsel (FEI) to advise on legal aspects related to FEI in relation to commercial contracts, employment law, general legal queries; ensuring that Flutter always operates within the law; providing pragmatic and commercial legal advice that protects Flutter’s reputation, brands, customers, and shareholders; and facilitating the achievement of the Flutter Group's objectives and strategy. As part of Flutter's diverse, international legal community spanning Dublin, London, Cluj, Porto, Sofia, and Hyderabad, you'll collaborate with talented professionals worldwide to protect and advance our business interests. This role offers exceptional opportunities to influence senior leadership, drive strategic initiatives, and make a meaningful impact on our organization's success. Working closely with the FEI Leadership Team, you'll serve as a trusted strategic partner, providing support and guidance that balances legal rigor with commercial pragmatism to support Flutter's ambitious growth objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with Lead Legal Counsel and key stakeholders to deliver accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice to core stakeholders, including the FEI Leadership Team and corporate functions, on a variety of legal topics that relate to Indian legislation Serve as a trusted advisor to the FEI Leadership Team and cross-functional partners, translating complex legal concepts into actionable business insights & by providing pragmatic, commercial and strategic advice on labour law matters. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining a wide variety of contracts including commercial, service, technology, supplier, consultancy, and employment-related agreements. Leading or supporting contract lifecycle management, including renewals, terminations, variations, and enforcement of terms in compliance with applicable Indian laws and regulations. Embedding GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) and regulatory compliance into all contractual templates and business practices. Designing and implementing company policies and procedures. Designing and delivering legal training to the business and provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization Acting as an enabler and strategic partner by proactively identifying solutions and designing legal strategies in support of business goals and change plans. Applying effective risk management techniques and offering proactive advice on possible legal issues, always mindful of the organisation’s risk appetite. Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practices throughout the company. Providing clear, concise, pragmatic and commercially viable legal advice in language non-legal colleagues can understand. Staying up to date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affecting our company. Developing strong and trusted relationships with peers on the Hubs Legal Team, sharing best practice and supporting Flutter group wide collaboration. Building rapport with, and function as a trusted advisor to, key stakeholders including global stakeholders, the leadership teams, and broader teams in Hyderabad.
