As Kiln continues to scale its staking and DeFi offerings, there is an increasing need for a dedicated Crypto Legal Counsel to navigate the complex legal landscape of digital assets, ensure compliance with evolving regulations, and provide strategic legal support across the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on digital assets, fintech, or financial services.

EXPERIENCE IN ADVISING ON BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY, STAKING, DEFI, AND TOKEN-RELATED MATTERS.

  • Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks impacting digital assets.
  • Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
  • Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in a legal advisory capacity.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating regulatory and legal risks in emerging markets.
  • Already based in APAC, Dubaï or Emirates.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and pragmatic legal advice to product, engineering, marketing, and go-to-market teams on new and existing products and features.
  • Ensure Kiln’s staking and DeFi offerings meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions (APAC, Middle East, EU).
  • Stay current on blockchain regulations, financial services frameworks, and public policy developments. Advise internal stakeholders on their potential impact on product design and business strategy.
  • Develop close working relationships with cross-functional teams and maintain a strong understanding of product and protocol-level developments.
  • Draft and maintain key legal documentation, including product terms of use, user disclosures, privacy notices, and policy frameworks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design scalable internal processes for integrating legal review and risk assessment into product development cycles.
  • Support the structuring and launch of innovative product features and go-to-market strategies while identifying and mitigating associated legal and regulatory risks.
  • Provide commercially sound legal advice on a wide range of matters including commercial contracts, IP, data protection, and corporate initiatives (e.g. grants, investments).
