LOCATION: This is a hybrid position that requires three days on-site in Reynosa, Mexico.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

The Regional Legal function is a key business partner within the assigned region providing legal advice and support across all business units in a wide range of legal and compliance matters, and in doing so, act as an ethical leader for the benefit of the corporation as a whole. We are searching for a candidate for the Regional Legal function in Mexico covering mainly Mexico and supporting in the United States. This position will report to our Vice President and Associate General Counsel.

  • Provide effective and pragmatic legal support and counselling to the business and related entities to bring transparency and sound understanding of the company’s rights and obligations, anticipate and reduce risks and liabilities, and ensure legal compliance with regards to:
  • Contracts, agreements, transactions, general terms and conditions in the context of all business related matters including, outsourcing, agency, distribution, sales channel, supply, and subcontract agreements.
  • Employment law and disciplinary procedures, including those involving local unions, and collaborating closely with Human Resources on a regular basis.
  • Selling, advertising and promotional literature.
  • In close partnership with Corporate Legal, provide support and advice to internal customers with respect to corporate governance, ethics and business conduct, data protection and privacy.
  • Assist in litigation and disputes as assigned, providing FAQ mentorship to internal clients on customer disputes, collaborating closely with outside counsel, producing timely reports pertaining to litigation and disputes where appropriate.
  • Serve as subject matter leader on compliance with maquiladora requirements.
  • Supervise corporate secretarial matters in conjunction with outside counsel.
  • Liaise with Finance Department to facilitate Review/Issuance of Bank Bonds.
  • From time to time, assist with corporate transactions, new company or office/branch startups, small acquisitions, divestitures or business transfers.
  • Conduct and facilitate trainings on contract law, project execution and management, export compliance, Competition, FCPA and Ethics, developed by the respective nVent departments.
  • Lead external counsels in an efficient and cost effective manner.
