JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Lead Counsel Northern Eastern Europe provides legal support to GE Healthcare business teams in the region. This includes drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising on legal and compliance matters, and supporting senior business leaders. The position is based in Warsaw. The contract duration is 18 months.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: Law degree (or equivalent) under an Eastern European jurisdiction. Active bar membership is a plus.
  • Professional Experience: Previous business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department, with a proven track record in drafting, negotiating, and closing business transactions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively.
  • Multitasking Ability: Capable of prioritizing conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and an Eastern European language.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Legal Support: Provide comprehensive legal support for all GE Healthcare businesses across Northern Eastern Europe.
  • Commercial Expertise: Draft, review, and negotiate high-stakes commercial agreements and transactions with key customers.
  • Public Tender Advisory: Offer expert advice on public tenders, including navigating and challenging tender awards.
  • Indirect Distribution Counsel: Collaborate closely with the Indirect Channel/Dealer Compliance Organization and sales teams to counsel on indirect distribution matters.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Guidance: Advise on regulatory, privacy, antitrust, and advertising/promotional matters, ensuring compliance with healthcare sector regulations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver impactful training sessions to business teams on legal and compliance topics.
  • Dispute and Litigation Management: Oversee disputes and litigation, managing outside counsel when necessary.
  • Entity Management: Support the management of legal entities within the region.
  • Business and Legal Judgment: Apply sound business and legal judgment to proposed deals and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay abreast of new legal and regulatory developments, educating the business accordingly.
  • Integrity Promotion: Foster and promote a strong culture of integrity within the organization.
