WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are looking for an experienced contracts lawyer for Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP).
This role requires substantial experience with purchasing contracts and a deep understanding of the challenges associated with the rapidly evolving sector of heavy-duty transportation (namely electromobility technology, industry trends, regulatory environment, market dynamics, key players, batteries and energy storage systems).
This role will report to the Head of GTP L&C Strategic Development and will work closely with senior lawyers (Lead Counsels) dedicated to strategic lines of business.
The work tasks offer cross-functional collaboration with other Volvo legal and compliance counsels and business stakeholders across the globe and may require occasional travel.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in sourcing projects.
• Provide proactive and business-oriented legal advice to the daily business operations in Europe.
• Draft and negotiate many different types of contracts as purchase agreements, licenses, lease, collaboration agreements… and if so needed, negotiate (together with the business teams) with external stakeholders.
• Provide legal support with respect to disputes and threats involving suppliers or other external entities that impact GTP. Provide support with respect to subjects that relate to the day-to-day GTP business areas.
• Provide support on intellectual property matters.
• Promote compliance with laws and regulations and internal legal processes.
• Proactively manage and enhance awareness of legal and commercial risks.

• Actively collaborate cross-functionally and cooperate with colleagues around the world on legal matters and projects within GTP and with internal and external stakeholders• Assist in implementing policies and programs.

• Research and interpret laws and regulations.
• Adapt and implement compliance programs, particularly in procurement. Participate in compliance projects, including investigations and audits.
• Manage diverse projects, encouraging team collaboration.
• Proficiency in negotiation and drafting of contracts together with experience in contracts and commercial law in the Electromobility space
