Legal Counsel | Senior Tax Manager/Director
Telenor Group Tax is seeking our new Legal Counsel and colleague
As legal counsel in Telenor ASA you will join our Group Tax team and become a key contributor in our Group Finance department. Telenor Group is divided into the business areas of Telenor Nordics, Telenor Asia, Telenor Infrastructure and Telenor Amp. Group Tax serves all Telenor companies with strategic and operational support and advice. You will have considerable impact and interact with stakeholders at different levels across the organization to drive and oversee tax related matters.
You will be joining a highly skilled and professional team with strong ethics. Group Tax works proactively to manage tax risks in cooperation with all business areas within Telenor Group. We provide advice in all tax related matters including capital and legal structuring, reorganizations, M&A activities, transfer pricing, tax audits and tax disputes. You will report to SVP Head of Group Tax in Telenor ASA.

Some of your key responsibilities:

• Provide advice on all relevant tax issues including cross-border transactions, capital structuring, restructuring projects, M&A-activities, product development, international taxation etc.
• Maintain and enhance global tax policies, control and governance environment within the tax function.
• Oversee and contribute to the process of tax reporting and tax filing in cooperation with our colleagues in Telenor Shared Services AS.
• Engage constructively in dialogue with relevant authorities.
• Tax risk management for Telenor Group in all relevant countries and regions and avoid non-compliance.
• Play an active role to monitor and manage legal changes, including OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework Global Tax Reform and initiate required projects.
• Transfer pricing.
• Contribute to tax audits, disputes and litigations in the Telenor Group in close cooperation with the business units and external advisors.

Qualifications and experience:

• Master’s degree in law.
• Additional education and/or experience in economics is beneficial.
• Technical expertise in tax.
• 5-10 years of experience from a top-tier advisory firm or in-house legal counsel in a multinational group or similar.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, in both Norwegian and English.
