About the role We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role has a key focus on advising on Technology, Privacy, AI and Data Governance (including spam compliance), along with broader legal matters across Tennis Australia and its Member Associations, supporting Tennis’ position as a global leader in events and entertainment. In this role you will: Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across technology, privacy, AI and data governance, translating legal requirements into clear guidance for stakeholders Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of legal documents, including commercial contracts, policies and key correspondence Monitor regulatory developments and proactively advise the organisation on emerging legal risks, compliance obligations and best practice Partner with business teams to support strategic projects, commercial initiatives and day-to-day decision-making Develop and maintain organisational policies, precedents and processes, driving continuous improvement and automation where possible About you To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated experience advising on technology, privacy, AI and data governance matters including Spam Compliance Approximately 3+ years’ post-admission experience, ideally gained in a commercial law firm or in-house environment Strong legal capability, including sound judgement, drafting, negotiation and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trusted relationships A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the resilience to manage competing priorities Strong digital capability, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using AI tools and new systems Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia What’s to love?
