Apple is seeking an experienced Payments Attorney with a strong commercial and transactional focus to join its Legal Department in Dublin, Ireland. This role supports the Apple Pay and Wallet team across Europe and Emerging Markets, with a primary focus on regulatory, product counseling, and commercial and transactional law, alongside broader consumer and legal matters impacting Wallet, Payments, and Commerce. DESCRIPTION The successful candidate will thrive in fast-paced transactional work, advising on a wide range of issues related to offering and using consumer financial products and services through mobile wallets. Key responsibilities include serving as product counsel, shaping responses to legal and regulatory requirements, structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements with third parties in the payments industry, advising on contract structures and commercial terms for Apple’s partners and customers, translating applicable laws, and supporting service expansion. Essential qualifications include significant experience providing product advice for mobile wallets and various payment services, along with proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements (intellectual property law and technology transactions background preferred). A deep understanding of Irish and European directives, laws, and regulations impacting payments, financial services, open banking, e-commerce, and consumer finance (including data privacy) is crucial. Knowledge of laws applicable to personal financial information is also preferred. The role demands a strong work ethic, collaboration skills, and offers the chance to work within a global legal team. Experience in an international team and excellent client development skills are a plus. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Significant experience providing product advice for mobile wallets, payment cards, payments systems, alternative payments, and other related services. Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, with strong intellectual property law and technology transactions background preferred. Knowledge of and familiarity with Irish and European directives, laws, and regulations impacting payments and financial services. Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to open banking, mobile wallets, electronic payments, e-commerce and consumer financial services. Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to collecting, storing, and using personal financial information preferred. Strong work ethic and collaboration skills essential. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in an international team a plus. Excellent client development and interpersonal skills.
