Who we are looking for
Join State Street Canada (*) Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) team as Legal Entity Controls, VP and collaborate with several State Street teams throughout the organization.
State Street Canada uses third parties to support internal processes and to assist in delivery of products and services to clients. In order to manage the risks introduced by working with third-party service providers, State Street Canada has a TPRM program (State Street Canada TPRM Program). The State Street Canada TPRM Program is designed to adheres to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) B-10 TPRM Guideline and the Global TPRM program which established the policy and standards for conducting risk assessments and related governance activities.
To aid State Street Canada conducting these activities and the internal business areas they support, the Legal Entities and Controls VP will be responsible for leading and transforming the Canada TPRM Program, which includes both the management of the Intragroup (affiliate) engagements; and the External (vendor) outsourcing. This leader will have a strong understanding of outsourcing principles, best practices, and regulatory landscape as well as a demonstrated ability to work horizontally and collaboratively to design program improvements and drive both the Canadian regulatory requirements and the Global State Street TPRM program (Global Program) adoption.
This role will report to the Head of State Street Canada Legal Entity Controls and is a critical Vice President role within State Street Canada’s TPRM Program. Opportunities to assume responsibilities outside the Canada TPRM Program.

What you will be responsible for

  • Lead the State Street Canada TPRM Program and program uplift activities to meet evolving regulatory requirements and drive program adoption by legal entities and business units
  • Understand the global outsourcing regulatory landscape to determine requirements to be met with the global program and local nuanced requirements to be addressed by Legal Entity Outsourcing Offices
  • Provide direction, support, and thought leadership to the Canadian legal entities and Business Units/Corporate Function legal entity Engagement Managers on outsourcing risks and activities
  • Maintain the State Street Canada TPRM Guideline and Procedures and govern compliance

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years Outsourcing experience in the financial services industry specifically involving third party risk management and experience leading transformation projects in global organizations is preferred
  • BA/BS degree in business, finance or related field. Masters degree a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and some experience with presentations.
  • Experience within large complex organizations, including within financial services organizations
  • Experience working with various risk programs, including risk analysis and risk reporting
  • Experience executing reporting to governance committees.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Prior experience with Access preferred.
